Corsair’s Carbide 175R – Best Budget RGB and Tempered Glass Budget Case

Corsair’s Carbide 175R – Best Budget RGB and Tempered Glass Budget CaseOne of their best-selling series, the Carbide Series with its new Carbide 175R RGB, has been added by Corsair. The 175R RGB is a mid-tower entrance-level chassis that appears to be between the Carbide 100R and the Carbide 275R. The new enclosure has a lot of premium features, including an RGB light, a fake brushed-metal finish, and tempered glass. All these features make this case at a price point of $60 quite attractive.

Outstanding features on a budget case

The case intake is the spaces in the front panel’s top and bottom, which should allow adequate indoor cooling. The left panel is made of a dark tint of tempered glass. The rest of the panels are made of matt-black finished aluminum. The top I / O ports, together with the power and reset button, are two USB 3.0 and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack. Overall, this is a compact and unobtrusive case that can be used by anyone.

There is a single 120 mm fan with RGB lighting, while there is a need to buy additional fans to fill the existing fan locations (up to 6 120 mm or 4 140 mm). It is very typical to see cases that are budget without fans because if manufacturers do not include fans, it will reduce the cost of the case.

If you want the best possible performance and don’t care about RGB lighting, I recommend using Noctua or Deepcool fans. The fan included is compatible with the Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI RGB software. All you need to do to get it to work is plug it into the motherboard’s 12V RGB header.

The case size is 418mm x 210mm x 450mm. The cases weigh 6.1kg(13.45lbs), which is not that heavy because the glass side paneling is tempered. Internally, the 175R RGB supports motherboards sized Mini-ITX, Micro ATX and ATX, GPUs up to 330mm and a maximum 160mm CPU cooler. The case supports up to a 360 mm radiator in front, 240 mm up top, and 120 mm back for radiator placement. Watercooling is quite expensive, so I’d go with a case that includes fans and is a bit bigger.
